Haritika Clean Drinking Water Project

New Water Supply System

HARITIKA works with people whose lives are dominated by extreme poverty, illiteracy, and are handicapped. With multifaceted development interventions, HARITIKA strives to bring about positive changes in the quality of life of the poor people of BUNDELKHAND region of UP and MP in India.

Haritika has been implementing a new pipe water supply system for a number of villages of Jaitpur block (district Mahoba) in Uttar Pradesh. The water system is non-functioning due to erratic supply of power supply. A 2 h.p. pump was installed to lift the underground water to the newly constructed 40,000 litre tank. Piped connections were given to almost half of the households in the village.
by Patrick Cox

The objective of the project is to fund a more powerful solar water pump to increase access to water, in 10 villages in the semi arid region of Bundelkhand Region of Central India. This will provide 10,000 people of 849 households access to safe drinking water.
